KANE'S ENTRANCE VIDEO
Kane Height: 7' Weight: 326 pounds From: Unknown Finishing move: Chokeslam Career Highlights:
World Wrestling Federation Champion; Intercontinental Champion; Tag Team Champion (5); Hardcore Champion
No superstar in history has made more of an immediate impact than Kane. On October 5, 1997, the world met Kane, as the
seven-foot monster tore off the door to "Hell in the Cell" in order to get to his brother, the Undertaker. The siblings
later fought in the first-ever Inferno Match! Less than one year after he arrived, Kane became the World Wrestling
Federation Champion by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin at the 1998 King of the Ring. Though his reign was short-lived, the
seven-foot monster proved he could live up to all expectations. Since then, Kane has been a Tag Team Champion on
three occasions. Once a man of no emotion, Kane has somewhat broken out of his shell. However, the 7-footer still remains
a monster in the ring.
Early Career Other than a tag team title reign with Al Snow in Smoky Mountain Wrestling (as Unibomb), Glen
Jacobs' early career was entirely unspectacular. He burst onto the WWF scene as Isaac Yankem, D.D.S., Jerry
Lawler's personal dentist in the summer of '95 when Lawler claimed his teeth were ruined after a special "Kiss My Foot"
match won by Bret Hart Vignettes of Yankem appear, leading to a Summerslam '95 contest between Bret and Yankem.
Yankem loses his debut match by DQ, eventually dropping a later rematch to Hart on RAW before fading into obscurity.
In 1996, after much hype, Jim Ross re-introduces Jacobs to WWF audiences as (Fake) "Diesel." The ill-advised
gimmick is nothing more than a cheap knock-off of Kevin Nash's previous persona (after Nash leaves the company). It only lasts
a few months. He has a USWA stint as "Doomsday," before finally re-entering the WWF with his most
successful gimmick to date... October 5, 1997: Badd Blood After months of build up, Glen Jabobs
makes his re-re-debut as the Undertaker's fire-scarred younger brother, Kane, interfering in the infamous Hell in a Cell match
between 'Taker and Shawn Michaels. Paul Bearer is his manager (and later claims to be his father). November
9, 1997: Survivor Series The WWF's newest monster heel defeats Mankind to further his image as an unstoppable
wrecking machine. Foley bumps heavily for the big man, which gets the "Big Red Machine" way over. Late
1997 Kane destroys star after star on RAW each week, as Paul Beaarer says that he'll keep doing so until they
get a match with UT. Undertaker continues to insist that he'll never fight his "brother." January
1998 After saving Kane from a gang attack by WWF midcarders, The Undertaker is saluted by his younger brother.
The commentary team is glad the feud is "finally over." Royal Rumble In a casket match
against Shawn Michaels, Taker is jumped by several men, only to be saved by Kane. However, Kane then turns on UT, locking
him in the casket and setting it on fire. Their feud is now thrust into full swing for Wrestlemania. March 29,
1998: Wrestlemania XIV The Undertaker defeats Kane after three Tombstones. However, the feud would be far from
over. The finish is designed to give Undertaker the upperhand in the feud, but allows Kane's monstrous power to shine through.
April 26, 1998: Unforgiven Undertaker defeats Kane in an "Inferno Match," where the
winner is the one to set the loser on fire. The fire element of the bout fits in with the storyline that Kane was burned in
a fire started by the Undertaker 20 years before. June 1998: King of the Ring Kane beats Steve
Austin in a first blood match to become the WWF Champion. The short title reign (he loses it back to Austin the night after
on RAW) establishes him as a main event star. July 13, 1998 Kane and Mankind defeat the New Age
Outlaws to win the WWF Tag Team Titles. Their bond is somewhat loose, as is the makeshift tag team. July 26,
1998: Fully Loaded Steve Austin and The Undertaker defeat Kane and Mankind for the WWF Tag Team Titles. This
is a natural extension in the ongoing angle between Kane and Undertaker. August 8, 1998 In a four-way
match (also involving Austin/Undertaker, New Age Outlaws, and D-Lo/Henry), Mankind and Kane become WWF Tag Team Champions
for a second time. August 30, 1998: Summerslam Mankind loses the WWF Tag Team belts to the New
Age Outlaws when Kane refuses to participate in the match, and attacks his partner with a sledgehammer afterwards. This leads
to Mankind becoming a face again. September 27, 1998: Breakdown Undertaker and Kane simultaneously
pin WWF Champion Steve Austin in a triple threat match for the world title. A rematch between the two winners is set for the
next PPV to determine the true champion. The finish instantly re-establishes the feud between the two, after they had been
getting along for months. The night after, McMahon forces them to face each other at the Judgement Day PPV. Kane and Undertaker
swiftly turn against McMahon. October 1998: Judgement Day In a match for the vacant WWF Title,
Undertaker and Kane wrestle to a no-contest when special referee Steve Austin declares himself the winner. Kane goes into
the next PPV (Survivor Series) as a darkhorse favorite. November 15, 1998: Survivor Series Feuding
with Undertaker and Kane, Vince McMahon places them against each other in the first round of the "Deadly Game" WWF
Title Tournament. Kane loses. Early 1999 Kane joins The Corporation, only to be mistreated. The
storyline leads to another member, Chyna, coming to his aid and defending him. February 14, 1999: Saint Valentine's
Day Massacre Kane and Chyna defeat Triple H and X-Pac. It would be another match in the on-again, off-again
feud between Kane and DX that would continue for several months. March 28, 1999: Wrestlemania XV Kane
defeats HHH by DQ. Chyna's turn on Kane leads to the finish. HHH and Chyna costing X-Pac his match later in the night would
establish them as anti-DX Corporation members and lead to the formation of the X-Pac/Kane tag team, with the Corporation as
a common enemy. March 30, 1999: Raw Kane and X-Pac defeat Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart to become
WWF Tag Team Champions. June 25, 1999 Kane and X-Pac lose the WWF Tag Belts to The Acolytes.
June 27, 1999: King of the Ring Kane upsets Big Show in the first round of the tournament, only
to lose to eventual winner, Mr. Ass, in the semi-finals. July 25, 1999: Fully Loaded Kane loses
to Big Show in a no-DQ match because of special referee Hardcore Holly's biased officiating. After the match, Undertaker and
Show brutally attack Kane. Show turns into a full heel, making Kane a full face. August 9, 1999 Kane
and X-Pac regain the WWF Tag Team belts from The Acolytes August 22, 1999: Summerslam Kane and
X-Pac drop the WWF Tag Titles to Undertaker and Show. Shortly after, Kane is given a chance to rejoin Undertaker, but sides
with X-Pac instead. September 26, 1999: Unforgiven Kane is one of the six men in the "Six
Pack Challenge" WWF Title match (won by HHH). Even though he doesn't win, the match is useful for reminding fans that
Kane should still be considered a top-level wrestler. October 17, 1999: No Mercy Kane, Faarooq,
and Bradshaw lose a four corners match to X-Pac. In the weeks leading up to the match, X-Pac claims he does not need Kane's
help and is tired of being in the Big Red Machine's shadow. November 1999 X-Pac reforms DX, hinting
that Kane will be added as a member. Instead, DX turns on Kane, fully revitalizing the Kane/DX feud. In the following weeks,
Tori is added to the mix as Kane's girlfriend. X-Pac spin kicks her many times while claiming that Kane's little red machine
was burned in the fire. The love angle between Kane and Tori adds depth to the Kane character. December 12,
1999: Armageddon Kane defeats X-Pac. However, shortly thereafter, he loses a WWF Title match to Big Show forcing
him to follow a pre-match stipulation (set by Stephanie McMahon and HHH) that Tori must spend the holidays with X-Pac. This
scenario heightens the drama behind the Kane/DX-McMahon feud that has slowly developed throughout the Big Red Machine's WWF
tenure. January 2000 An angle begins where Tori accuses various wrestlers of hitting on her. This
causes Kane to act violently. January 27, 2000: Smackdown During a match between Kane and Big
Show, Tori turns on Kane by joining DX and revealing what she did on the weekend X-Pac kidnapped her. A saddened Kane leaves
the arena and vanishes for a short period of time. The turn concludes the Kane/Tori love angle and allows Kane the chance
to eventually return as an unstoppable monster instead of as the lovesick puppy he had been portraying. February
7, 2000: Raw Kane returns at the end of the night with a much slimmer Paul Bearer as his manager. He wipes
everyone out of the ring. It is obvious that the monstrous Kane of old is back in full force. February 8, 2000:
Smackdown Taping Kane tombstones Tori. She appears in a neckbrace on future shows. February 14,
2000: Raw Kane beats Big Show in a handicapped match (also involving Triple H, who set the match up to punish
Kane for earlier chokeslamming Tori). February 27, 2000: No Way Out In a very enjoyable match,
With steel steps in his hand, Kane loses to X-Pac after the DX member dropkicks the steps. It is unclear if the feud is over
yet. It seems to still have some life left in it. March 13, 2000: Raw Kane easily disposes of
Big Boss Man March 15, 2000 IGN's Galatea examines the man behind the mask. March
16, 2000: Smackdown A Kane vs. Rock match is scheduled for the main event, but DX jumps Kane before the match.
Vince changes it to Kane vs. X-Pac. Kane interferes, causing a DQ of some kind. March 20, 2000: Raw
Kane chokeslams Tori after after a Hardys vs. X-Pac/Road Dogg match. Later in the night, he and Rikishi go to a no-contest
because of interference from DX. Kane and Rikishi then help each other beat DX down. It seems like they are forming a makeshift
team. March 23, 2000: Smackdown After Too Cool/Rikishi vs. Radicals, X-Pac and Road Dogg try to
jump Rikishi. Kane comes to his aid, but he and Phatu end up getting floored by the DX members. March 27, 2000:
Raw Kane beats Kurt Angle by DQ after the Olympian hits the "Big Red Machine" with a belt.
During X-Pac vs. D-Von Dudley, Kane comes in, dominating both men briefly, before getting the 3D and being thrown over
the top rope into a table. March 30, 2000: Smackdown In a non-title match, Kane and Rikishi beat
WWF Tag Champs, The Dudley Boyz. April 2, 2000: Wrestlemania 2000 Kane and Rikishi destroy Road
Dogg and X-Pac. After the match, Kane chokeslams the bat weilding Pete Rose for the third WM in a row. April
3, 2000: Raw After Kane gets the 1-2-3 on Bull Buchanan, Bossman handcuffs the "Big Red Machine" and
smashes him in the arm with a chair. It is most likely how the WWF will explain Kane's previously sustained arm injury.
April 23th, 2000: Sunday Night Heat Kane makes his triumphant return to WWF TV after several weeks
out with a broken hand. He comes out during the Acolytes' scuffle with Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan, and gives them all a
scare. May 29, 2000: Raw After the mysterious muggings of Vince McMahon and
Road Dogg, Kane makes a surprise return in the middle of the Rock/Undertaker lumberjack main event chaos. The broadcast ends
with Rocky, Taker, and Kane hovering over the WWF title. June 5, 2000: Raw In
an attempt to fix the confusion of the number one contendership for the WWF title, Vince and the Regime order Undertaker,
Kane and The Rock to fight a triple threat match. The winner of which will be the sole title contender, and will face Triple
H later in the show. Both Undertaker and Kane swear that their brotherly alliance will be called off until all is settled.
Thanks to some help from Hunter in the announce booth, Kane is singled out, as The Rock defeats Undertaker to earn his rightful
shot at the title. Later on, Triple H and The Rock go one on one for the WWF title, in an excellent see-saw battle. However,
once the ref is knocked out, an angry Undertaker comes out with Kane, and things really break down. Hunter wipes them all
out with a chair, and finally manages to pin Rocky to retain the title. June 12, 2000: Raw
Linda McMahon lays down the law, and and announces a six-maan tag main event for King of the Ring, featuring Kane, Undertaker,
and The Rock versus Vince, Shane, and Triple H. To spite the CEO's ruling, the faction jumps Kane in the locker room, and
snaps a picture of Kane without his mask. Unless he faces The Rock in a no-holds-barred contest later in the night, they will
show the seemingly grotesque photo. As part of the plan, the Faction sends Undertaker out of the building after Bull Buchanan
steals his bike. The match is on between Rocky and Kane, until GTV interrupts the action. The camera reveals that ther was
no film in the camera, and thus, no picture. With the blackmail rendered useless, Kane and The Rock start pounding on Faction
members with Undertaker soon joining in. When the smoke clears, the three do-gooders stand triumphant. June
15, 2000: Smackdown The Faction decides to have fun at dishing out payback, as Vince announces that
Kane, Chris Jericho, and The Rock will all face mystery opponents. Kane contends with Chris Benoit, as the two fight to a
DQ, after Benoit nails Kane in the face with the IC belt. June 19, 2000: Raw Linda
McMahon sends her husband Vince a fax, stating that the WWF title must be at stake during the six-main main event at King
of the Ring. The Faction wants none of this, but in order to be fair, the Faction orders one condition. In a series of handicap
matches, if Kane, Undertaker, and Ther Rock can beat The Hardy Boys, T & A, and Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan respectively,
only then will the title be put on the line at KOTR. As both Undertaker and Kane win their matches, Triple H grows more and
more worried, despite Vince's reassurance. Finally, The Rock wins his handicap match in the main event. By now, Hunter is
incensed with rage, and the Faction is torn apart. Vince promises a backup plan soon. June 22, 2000: Smackdown
In order for the Faction to renew their supremacy over the WWF, Vince McMahon orders a six-man, non-title,
tag match pitting himself, with shane and Triple H, versus Kane, The Undertaker, and The Rock. However, once the latter team
is ready for action, the Faction changes the rules, and instead, has them join together in a handicap gauntlet match. The
opponents come out at random, and are swiftly destroyed. Later, while the various henchmen are keeping Kane and Undertaker
busy, Triple H battles it out with The Rock. Hunter nails a Pedigree, and as a final humiliation, Vince does a hilarious mockery
of the People's Elbow. After this, the three count is acedemic. June 25, 2000: King Of The Ring
Kane, Undertaker, and The Rock meet Shane, Vince, and Triple H of the Faction, in a six-man tag for the World title.
All heck breaks loose, as both parties take turns in getting the upper hand. Dissension starts to show, as Rocky pulls Undertaker
off of Shane, to mess up a pinfall. Undertaker goes to town on Triple H, right before The Rock and Shane have it out with
each other. In the end, as Shane is driven through the broadcast table by Undertaker, Vince gives The Rock his own version
of the People's Elbow. In retaliation, he kicks out, and hits the Rock Bottom for the three count. The Rock is now a five-time
WWF champ! June 26, 2000: Raw Kane teams up with the Undertaker, by order of WWF commish
Mick Foley, to take on Edge and Christian in a non-title bout. The champs are visably frightened, and are finished off with
a pair of chokeslams. June 29, 2000: Smackdown Kane faces Christian one-on-one, much
to the dismay of the tag team champ. Luckily, due to blatant double teaming, and a run-in by Tazz distracting the ref, Christian
gets the pinfall after a wicked double chair shot. Later, after Edge's match with Undertaker, Kane gets some revenge with
a viscious choke slam, while Undertaker gives Edge a powerbomb. July 3, 2000: Raw Kane
and The Undertaker are in line for a shot at tag team gold. The Champs, Edge and Christian, defend their titles ever so reluctantly.
The match is dominated by the challengers, there seems to be no hope for Edge and Christian to retain their belts. However,
in comes Kurt Angle, who clips Undertaker on the knee with his scepter. Automatic DQ, as the champs walk away with the titles
intact. July 6, 2000: Smackdown Undertaker and Kane face off against Test and Albert.
It's nothing but a huge brawl all around the ring. The end comes when Albert is hit with a double boot and choke slammed by
Kane. Afterwards, Test goes up for Taker's huge powerbomb, and Trish is rescued from a chokeslam of her own. July
10, 2000: Raw Kane and Rikishi both vie for the IC title in a triple threat match, against Val Venis.
The challengers use their strength and power to try and overthrow the champ, but Val uses quickness and smarts just as easily.
In the end, after Val receives a stinkface, he waffles Rikishi with the belt, to lose the match by DQ. After the bout, Kane
gives Val a chokeslam. July 13th, 2000: Smackdown Kane squares off versus
a very reluctant Kurt Angle. The Big Red Machine dominates early on, but Angle wisely focuses on Kane's legs. Angle just about
has a victory sealed up, when an angry Triple H comes down to the ring. He throws him into the steel steps, and tosses him
back in the ring, as Kane picks up the win with a chokeslam. July 17, 2000: Raw Kane and Undertaker
beat Triple H and Kurt Angle after HHH is distracted by Chris Jericho. July 20, 2000: Smackdown Angle
loses by DQ to Kane after using a chair. Before the match, a more fearless Angle says he can handle any challenge thrown his
way and will have no problems with the Undertaker (who is subsequently attacked). July 24, 2000: Raw
Kane and Rock go to a no contest against Benoit and Angle. Show attacks Kane as Raw ends. July 27, 2000:
Smackdown Kane and Dudleys go through Big Show, Edge, and Christian. August 3, 2000: Smackdown
Kane and Rock lose to Chris Benoit and Big Show. "After the match, Kane and Show brawl up on the stage.
Shane attacks Kane from behind. Kane turns to Shane as Big Show rips a huge piece out of the metal stage, leaving a massive
hole in the stage. Show chokeslams Kane RIGHT THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE STAGE! The camera eventually pans down to Kane lying
unconscious on the concrete floor. EMTs go under the stage and Kane rolls towards the stretcher."
August 10, 2000: Smackdown Undertaker and Rock beat HHH and Kurt Angle when our Olympic Hero goes down for
the 1-2-3 after a "Last Ride" from the "American Badass." August 14, 2000: Raw
Undertaker beats Benoit by DQ after interference from Shane McMahon. After the match, Benoit locks UT in the crossface.
Kane makes the save...then shocks the world by chokeslamming the Undertaker straight through the ring. UT/Kane feud #575 has
just begun. August 17, 2000: Smackdown After Kane explains why he betrayed Undertaker ("I
am a monster"), UT confronts the "Big Red Machine" about what happened. Kane shrugs him off several times.
Once the "American Badass" lets his guard down, Kane pounces with a hellish attack that causes UT to bleed.
August 27, 2000: Summerslam 2000 In a match that "never officially begins," Undertaker "wins"
it after unmasking Kane. It is one of the most shocking moments of the year. August 28, 2000: Raw
Kane loses to WWF Champion, The Rock, after taking a chokeslam from The Undertaker. Despite the defeat, the "Big
Red Monster" was able to kick out of Rocky's finisher, the Rock Bottom, during the course of the contest. As a result,
he's still considered a World Title level competitor.
